I help students to achieve the grades they need for VIth Form or university entrance. I work both with students who are struggling / under-performing and with talented students aiming for a place at Oxford, Cambridge or Durham.
My students make rapid progress and grow in confidence. After about 5 sessions they find that they can interact more in class, answer more questions and that their marks/end-of-term exam grades improve.
We work with materials and workbooks relevant to the syllabus and do practice exam questions from past papers of their examination Board. We also do listening and speaking exercises. I provide the students with a strategy and a time limit for tackling each type of question. (As an 'exam machine' myself, I am fairly adept at knowing which aspects of learning the examiner is testing and therefore which points should be included in the answer to gain the marks.) Thus, my students go into the exam knowing exactly what to expect,feeling well-prepared and calm.
